Executive functioning lesson to learn how to make a “future plan” for spending money.

In this lesson during Summer Trip Camp we talked about making a “future plan” for spending money.

Due to their executive function challenges with visualizing the future, kids with ADHD can have particular difficulty with managing money and making impulsive purchases. This difficulty sometimes extends into adulthood.

On the days when I allow the kids to bring spending money I ask for the parents not send them with more than $10, in order to help them learn how to manage their spending money more effectively.

(Video of this lesson will be posted soon to the ADHD Dude YouTube channel).
